Formerly the School Director & Chief Operating Officer, John is now Chief Executive Officer with a focus on developing the range and reach of the charity, as well as ensuring the highest standards across all our services – all based on our three core values: Collaborative Working, Psychodynamic Approach and a Reflective Culture. He made the career move to therapeutic child care at the Mulberry Bush in 1994, having worked in business in central London.
John is also Chair of the Community of Communities at the College Centre for Quality Improvement at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The Community of Communities runs a standards and accreditation network for 80 Therapeutic Communities for children and young people and adults, both in the UK and abroad. He is a Therapeutic Community (TC) specialist in the auditing of TC Prisons. John is a member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists and APPCIOS.
John is developing the charity’s focus on linking teaching, research and practice to ensure the highest quality services that result in excellent outcomes.
