We all undergo a range of transitions in our lifetime. Preparing children for change is crucial as it helps them develop resilience and adaptability, which are essential life skills. Change, whether it involves starting a new school, moving to a new home, or even smaller day-to-day changes, can be overwhelming for children, often leading to feelings of anxiety or uncertainty.
By proactively preparing them, we provide a sense of security, containment and understanding, which can ease these emotions. This preparation not only helps children feel more in control and less fearful of the unknown but also fosters a positive attitude towards future changes. Moreover, teaching children how to navigate transitions effectively equips them with coping mechanisms that are beneficial throughout their lives, enabling them to face challenges with confidence, hope and resilience.
This training programme is designed for professionals working with a range of age groups, aiming to equip them with the skills and understanding necessary to support smooth transitions in various aspects of life. This course emphasises empathy, communication and practical strategies to help children and young people navigate changes effectively.
The training programme comes with access to a transition tool, designed to support delegates with planning transitions for specific young people they are thinking about.
Transition courses can be delivered to individual organisations or participants are welcome to book a space on an open course. Please get in touch if you’d like to book an in person or online course for your setting. Prices start at £480 for up to 30 members of staff.
