We’re launching our Big Give Christmas Challenge to provide healing and hope for children who have experienced severe trauma and neglect. From December 3rd to December 10th, every donation made will be doubled (up to our target), creating twice the impact for children in need of support.
The power of outdoor play in healing children
For many of our children, who have faced unimaginable hardships, access to outdoor play can be transformative. Many children arrive at The Mulberry Bush School feeling lost, broken, and unable to trust others due to their traumatic experiences. Outdoor play offers a unique opportunity for healing by:
- Improving physical health
- Nurturing mental well-being
- Cultivating social skills
- Building self-confidence
Through outdoor activities, children learn to connect with others, build friendships, and overcome challenges. These experiences gradually restore their self-worth and help them develop essential life skills.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge
During this week-long campaign, all donations will be matched by sponsors, effectively doubling their impact. The funds raised will go towards:
- Providing vital outdoor play equipment
- Organising enriching experiences like camping trips
- Facilitating outward-bound activities
These resources and experiences are crucial in helping traumatised children rediscover joy and hope in their lives.
How you can help
- Make a donation: Your contribution, no matter the size, will be doubled (up to our target) during the challenge period.
- Spread the word: Share this appeal with friends, family, and colleagues to extend our reach.
- Consider alternative support: If you’re unable to donate due to the current cost-of-living crisis, sharing the campaign can still make a significant difference.
By supporting The Mulberry Bush School’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, you’re not just providing outdoor play equipment – you’re offering a chance for healing, growth, and a brighter future for children who have experienced severe trauma and neglect. Together, we can transform lives and create lasting positive change for these vulnerable children.
