Simon is currently working as a Regional Director, supporting five specialist schools for pupils with autism and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
As an Educational Leadership Consultant and School Improvement Partner, Simon has provided a full range of support for special schools and specialist colleges.
Simon has over 20 years extensive senior leadership experience, which includes being the Headteacher of three large and successful independent and non-maintained special schools. One for pupils with physical and complex health needs and a wide range of learning difficulties, one for those with a diagnosis of autism and complex challenges and, one for young people who have neurodevelopmental needs, trauma, and stress-related conditions.
Simon has been a National Leader of Education, holds a Masters in Education, has completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship and was awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered College of Teaching.
His role as an experienced and current inspector includes Local Area SEND, mainstream, AP and special schools.
As a SIP, Simon provides professional support and challenge in relation to all aspects of school improvement. This is likely to cover the following broad areas:

• Safeguarding reviews and audits
• Curriculum reviews
• SEND reviews
• Quality assurance and Independent School Standards
• Analysis of student outcomes and performance information
• Developing and strengthening governance
• Mentoring and coaching senior leaders and Head Teachers
• Head Teacher appraisal
• Recruitment support including Head Teacher and SLT interviews
• Support for HR issues
