Since 2015 I have been the Principal of Loddon School, a 52- week residential school for children with severe autism, severe learning difficulties and who are non-verbal.
I have been in senior leadership since 2001 and have experienced rich and varied leadership roles spanning the full spectrum of educational provision in mainstream schools and working in the world of special educational needs.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography, a master’s degree in special educational needs (Social, Emotional and Behavioural), and a PhD. I completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship in 2006 and was awarded a Fellowship with the Chartered Institute for Educational Assessors for my work on tracking and recording pupil progress.
I have experience with a wide range of special needs but feel best able to offer support with ASD and behavioural needs.
As a school Improvement Partner, I would be able to offer general whole school improvement work, preparation for inspection, reviewing performance and revisioning, curriculum review and creating new innovative curriculums and programmes of study to meet the needs of disengaged learners, sensory learning or outdoor active learning programmes. Happy to assist with Headteacher reviews and safeguarding audits.
