We’re launching our Big Give Christmas Challenge to provide healing and hope for children who have experienced severe trauma and neglect. From December 2nd to December 9th, every donation made will be doubled (up to our target), creating twice the impact for children in need of support. This year, our target is a record £60,000!
The power of a supportive learning environment
We believe every child deserves a learning environment where they feel supported & inspired. As our community changes & evolves, so must our classrooms. We now need to modernise & refit our learning spaces to meet the diverse needs of children aged 5–13+, many of whom are neurodiverse. Our children need spaces where their unique needs don’t make them stand out. Our vision is to provide adaptable, inclusive learning environments.
Some key benefits of a supportive learning environment are:

- Allowing a focus on learning
- Building social and emotional skills
With your support we’d like to replace furniture in our classrooms, with an emphasis on flexible seating, desks and tables that accommodate different children’s needs and meet our children’s sensory needs. The variety is required to reflect differences between children, as well as how they might be feeling each day. Funds raised will also contribute to adjustable lighting, well-equipped sensory and play spaces and doors that provide greater control for leaving and re-entering the classrooms to minimise disruption for all the children. Our classrooms will be transformed by storage that is suitable for a range of ages and needs and robust enough to withstand the dysregulated behaviours that our children often display. Removing clutter will create calm inviting spaces where children can quickly and easily find what they need, which adds predictability to their day-to-day lives. This in turn, enables our children to focus on learning, building their social and emotional skills and plugging essential gaps in their knowledge which will set them up for future success.

This year, it couldn’t be easier to donate with the addition of ‘Pay by Bank’, giving donors a chance to donate without the need for a card, making a donation using just your bank account and banking app.
- Spread the word: Share this appeal with friends, family, and colleagues to extend our reach.
- Consider alternative support: If you’re unable to donate due to the current cost-of-living crisis, sharing the campaign can still make a significant difference.
