Winners of the Princess Royal Training Award 2024

by | Aug 15, 2024

We are delighted to announce that our Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People (FdA) has been awarded a prestigious City & Guilds Princess Royal Training Award.

This flagship training course has received this honour by maintaining and developing the degree to meet the high standards for such an award. This is the 2nd time our FdA has won the award, winning it first time round in 2021 and is now the 4th distinguished award the course has earned.

Our Foundation degree is seeing its 16th cohort start this September and has seen over 226 candidates go on to graduate and put their learning into practice at organisations across the country.

We are proud to have received such an esteemed honour and to be amongst 51 other organisations to receive it for 2024. This puts us alongside other notable organisations including:

  • IBM
  • Bentley
  • Lotus
  • Specsavers
  • Lloyds Bank

“This is a fantastic reflection on the Mulberry Bush’s commitment to staff development and the commitment to improving standards of care for children, not only those at the Mulberry Bush School but those in other settings where staff enrol on the FdA.”

Former FdA Student and now Mulberry Bush Therapeutic Childcare Practitioner, Lauren-Rose Morgan, said this of her experience;

“I couldn’t recommend the FDA enough to those working in therapeutic environments. It is insightful, thoughtful and gave me the knowledge I needed, to give me confidence in working in a therapeutic community. My tutors were helpful and supportive in guiding me through the two years, and I couldn’t have done it without them. I enjoyed the course so much; I am opting to do a third year!”

With the opening of Bramble House this year, we are proud to say that all of its senior staff and management have completed their foundation degree, ensuring the highest standards of care for the children placed at The Mulberry Bush.

We look forward to attending the award ceremony at the end of November and sitting down to celebrate with all of the other winners. It will be a momentous day that will allow us to reflect on what each of us has achieved and what the award means to us.
