The Mulberry Bush Third Space (MB3)
Welcome to the latest Mulberry Bush service
MB3 is our picturesque and peaceful rural site in the heart of the Cotswolds, situated in the village of Toddington, Gloucestershire, just 12 miles from Cheltenham.
MB3 is available for conferences, training courses, workshops, seminars, study and research and for use by schools, clubs and groups.
This unique site offers three different and interesting spaces for therapeutic driven organisations, as well as Therapeutic Communities to utilise. They provide:
- A place to meet and work together
- A place to reflect and learn
- A place for fun and entertainment
The uniquely designed main building has:
- 1 large meeting room for 40 people
- 2 meeting rooms for up to 20 people
- 1 small meeting room for up to 3 people
- 1 study/reading room
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Large communal dining area
- Multimedia presentation facilities
MB3 can also provide on-site accommodation in our purpose built block. Our Residential building contains:
- 12 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 22 people
- Private lounge area, opening onto the meadow and picnic area
- Small kitchen area
- 6 Communal Bathrooms
- A separate laundry facility
The Meadow can cater for a variety of outdoor activities, such as mindfulness and meditative relaxation and is ideal for schools and youth groups offering outdoor education.
There is a camping area for up to 10 x 2 person tents, (not provided) a fire-pit, barbecue area and a ‘wildlife’ nature area.
There is additional space at the site for Marquees, Bell tents and Yurts (not provided).
There is provision for 22 car parking spaces on site.
The Archives and National Childcare Library
MB3 also holds the international archives of therapeutic communities and care.
The Planned Environment Therapy Archives hold substantial collections on the history of adult, prison and children’s therapeutic communities and environments including children’s homes and schools offering alternative education.
The Archives are open to individuals, schools and organisations who may want to find out more and research into the history of community/collective and relational therapeutic living and healing.
The National Childcare Library is a unique resource of published material regarding the history of private and public childcare in the UK. The Library also holds a large collection of books relating to adult therapeutic communities and environments.
