In the beautiful September sunshine nearly 200 women met on the lawn of
Somerville College, Oxford to raise funds for the Mulberry Bush and to
celebrate the contribution to society of many women. After delicious
drinks they filed into the beautiful dining hall where they ate delicious
guinea fowl and were hugely entertained by our two excellent speakers Prue
Leith and Hannah Rothschild. The guests were each given a copy of novels
written by the two authors – The Gardener by Prue Leith and The
Improbability of Love by Hannah Rothschild. We are so very grateful to the
two speakers and to the committee for their tireless work and excellent
humour: Kate Ehrman, Caroline De Jäger, Nicky Forsythe, Jean Flemming,
Caroline Laing and Laura Sednaoui.

What people said about it:

“Many congratulations on a wonderfully organised event. I had no idea what
to expect and thought it was excellent. Delicious lunch and most interesting
fellow guests. The speakers were interesting, especially Hannah as I had
loved reading her book.”

” Yet another triumphant lunch! September would feel out of kilter if there
wasn’t a Mulberry Bush lunch and to be on the top table with my guest ! Wow,
thank you.”

” Today was simply wonderful and I loved where I sat.  What a lot of work
and brain exercise but really lovely.  I had such a nice people either side
of me  who I had bags in common with and will see again,
Thank you all.  You do something very very special for us all.”
