Martin can be found working throughout many areas of Europe running cycle events for corporate and private clients, with his favourites being the mountains of the French alps and sun drenched southern Spain where many a mile have been spent supporting clients reach new heights and achieve personal and charitable goals.
When back in the UK Martin uses his combined skills of outdoor education and his Level 4 diploma in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner, to support young people and their families through difficult education and social situations. Many of the young people Martin supports are living in social care or supported living and often require alternative provisions.
Martin takes an interest in developing Positive Behaviour Support plans for young people and giving young people a positive outlook through engagement with outdoor activities and sport.
While working as a mentor Martin has a long term view and engagement with many young people to help them integrate back in to education, training or employment with an emphasis on finding what each individual needs and what they enjoy to do, Martin focuses each mentoring session on the positives and sometimes this can be the only occasion where his students are told they ‘can’ or their self worth is enhanced.
