The Mulberry Bush Research
The Mulberry Bush School is committed to research in therapeutic residential and foster care. Through research and its application, The Mulberry Bush School aims to develop and shape a research culture to influence practice within The Mulberry Bush Organisation and other schools, agencies and providers of care to vulnerable, traumatised children and their families.
The Research and Development Department is headed by Dr Caryn Onions. Caryn has worked as a child psychotherapist at The Mulberry Bush School since 2004. Before that she worked in the NHS in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and OXPIP (the Oxford Parent Infant Project). Caryn originally trained as a social worker and has experience in adult mental health and child and family teams. Caryn has a Doctorate in Clinical Practice from the University of Exeter. Her research focused on the school’s work with parents and carers. Caryn is interested in linking research and practice and in therapeutic residential and foster care.
