A qualified Social Worker, Dave has worked in residential child care since the early 1990s. He became head of the training department in 2006 and has led The Mulberry Bush to two National Training Awards, in 2007 and 2012.

He was integral in developing the ‘Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People’, with the University of the West of England, for which he is programme leader.

He has developed a range of training programmes that he has delivered across the UK and Europe and facilitates reflective practice sessions for professionals from across Oxfordshire.

Andy Lole

Executive Head Teacher, M.Ed

Andy LoleAndy was headteacher of The Mulberry Bush School 1994 – 2016. As executive headteacher he has oversight of The Mulberry Bush Organisation’s education provision.

He trained and worked as a primary school teacher in Nottingham, before moving to the Cotswold Community in Wiltshire where he worked for eight years.

He is an accredited School Improvement Partner, working with a number of schools in this capacity. He has extensive experience of working on behalf of local authorities providing challenge and support to their SEND provision both in mainstream and special schools.

In 2011 Andy was designated a National Leader in Education when the school was recognised as a National Support School. Now that The Mulberry Bush is also a National Teaching School Andy heads up our School to School support work.

Ray Burrows

Specialist Teacher

Ray Burrows is an experienced teacher and qualified art therapist. He has worked for The Mulberry Bush since 1989. He has also worked in residential child care and was a foster parent. Ray has been involved in various collaborative research projects at The Mulberry Bush, and was integral in establishing the SUCCESS project (an action research project to develop an outreach model).

Ray works to develop understanding, skills, confidence and capacity within professional groups across the region, mainly in schools. He has a particular interest in developing reflective practice, either through training or group work support.

Ruth Seymour

Child and Educational Psychologist BSc, PGCE, CPsychol

Ruth is an experienced Child and Educational Psychologist. She has a Doctorate in Child, Community and Educational Psychology  from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust where her doctoral research focused on supporting children with social, emotional and attachment needs in schools through a Nurture Group approach.  She has worked as an Educational Psychologist for a large Local Authority as well as within a London Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service where she was part of the Neurodevelopmental Team.

Ruth began working for The Mulberry Bush as an associate Educational Psychologist in 2014 and became part of the Outreach Team in 2016. Ruth specialises in working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs and is passionate about working systemically with schools to meet the needs of vulnerable children and their families.

Dawn Davidson

Senior Training Officer PGCE, B.Ed (Hons)

Dawn has worked in the field of therapeutic care and education for more than 25 years. During her career she has taught and supported training both in the UK and overseas working with schools and educational organisations, supporting them to better meet children’s needs.

Dawn is now a member of The Mulberry Bush Outreach team co-ordinating and delivering training at The Mulberry Bush and teaching safeguarding training for Oxfordshire’s Safeguarding Children Board. She is a module leader on the Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People through the University of the West of England.

Morwenna Rogers

Therapeutic Practitioner BA (Hons), FdA Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People, MSc

Morwenna has worked with The Mulberry Bush School as a Senior Teaching Assistant and Forest School Leader for a number of years. During this time, she completed the Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People through The Mulberry Bush and the University of the West of England. Morwenna left The Mulberry Bush in order to continue her training by completing a MSc in Psychology at Kingston University, London. She is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS). Following this she spent some time working in the London Borough of Lewisham as a Senior Family Support Worker gaining an insight into life outside The Mulberry Bush Organisation.

As a result of these experiences Morwenna has returned to The Mulberry Bush as a member of the Outreach Team. She seeks to expand and support professionals’ knowledge in meeting the emotional needs of vulnerable children and young people, in order to build capacity within organisations and reduce exclusions.
