Stories from the Archives: Intrepid Explorers of Therapeutic Communities

Join our team as they delve into the Archives to share their favourite stories, characters and events from our unique and nationally important collections.

We will take a whistle-stop tour of therapeutic communities from around the world, and explore trends and comparisons in approaches. The talk will highlight some of the collections in the PET Archives and Special Collections with international connections, including the records of Dennie Briggs, David Gribble, and the ATC Windsor Conferences plus many more.

Afterwards there will be a chance to reflect on the material in a reflective space facilitated by Marya Hemmings.

Learning objectives:

To explore how communities in different parts of the world work therapeutically

To learn about the variety of archival material with international connections at the PET Archives

To advance our understanding of current therapeutic community practice through reflecting on archival material

The chance to reflect on your personal connection to the development and history of therapeutic communities
