We were thrilled to be visited by Princess Anne, Patron of Latitude Global Volunteering. Children showed her Royal Highness round the houses and the school, and she then came into the hall where our drum circle and choir gave moving performances. Our international volunteers, provided by Latitude, gave a presentation explaining why they had each chosen to come to the Mulberry Bush for a year, what their lives are like at the school, what they have learnt from being with us and what they propose to do in the future. The Princess spoke to us all about the importance of the ongoing relationship between the Mulberry Bush and Latitude. Afterwards she joined staff and guests in our dining room, who were delighted to meet her.
Each year we have eight volunteers who help with the children in the houses and classrooms and learn our unique methods of therapeutic residential childcare. These volunteers are sent to us by Latitude Global Volunteering.
Thank you Princess Anne for visiting us!
